SHOCKING TRUTH: McDonaldโs Workers Left Out of Trump’s โTip Tax Breakโ!
Fast-Food Giant Exposes the Ugly Side of Tipping Policies!
Hold onto your fries, folks! McDonaldโs CEO Chris Kempczinski just dropped a truth bomb about President Trumpโs so-called โno-tax-on-tipsโ policy, and guess what? Itโs a total bust for the golden arches! While Trump rolled out this policy as part of his โBig Beautiful Bill,โ itโs only benefiting restaurants that let customers tip. That leaves McDonald’s workers high and dry, with NO perks at all!
Kempczinski didnโt hold back on CNBC, spilling the beans that, โThe no-tax-on-tips policy is only beneficial for those restaurants that have tips. Since we donโt tip at McDonaldโs, weโre missing out on this so-called tax relief!โ Can you believe it?
But waitโthereโs MORE! The reality is that this policy creates a massive divide between restaurants. If youโre a server rolling in tips, your starting wage can be as low as $2.13โset back in 1991! Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage has barely crawled past $7.25, making it clear: thereโs an uneven playing field!
In fact, a staggering 37% of tipped workers didnโt even have to pay federal income tax in 2022! So that tax break? Totally useless for them! Karla Dennis, a tax strategist, aired her frustration, exclaiming, โItโs a win for the business owner!โ These employers get to pocket the difference while their tipped employees barely scrape by!
The truth hurts, and Kempczinski is shining a spotlight on how this policy gives a MASSIVE advantage to those who skirt by on tips while playing their workers like a game of Monopoly! โRight now, thereโs an uneven playing field,โ he said. โCustomers are essentially paying for labor, with businesses reaping double rewards!โ
WHATโS THE SOLUTION?
To fix this gaping hole, Kempczinski is calling for a united minimum wage for both tipped and non-tipped workers! Imagine thatโa fair wage for ALL employees! In some smart states already doing this, the poverty rate for tipped workers plummets to about 11.1%.
With one unified wage, McDonaldโs and other restaurants could stop the cycle of exploitation, boost morale, and create a workforce thatโs happy and thriving.
Could this be the change we desperately need? McDonaldโs is ready for a conversation about raising the federal minimum wage, and itโs about time! The clock is ticking, Americaโlet’s make sure no one gets left behind in the race for fair pay!
