Leading business news and information organization to launch new offices in 2025

[NEW YORK, NY] On November 22, 2024, Dow Jones revealed its intentions to expand its office network and establish new locations to enhance its operations across the Middle East. Set to open in 2025, these new offices will integrate staff from Dow Jones’s esteemed brands, strengthening the company’s capabilities in news collection, sales, and information services related to risk, energy, and more.

“The Gulf’s emergence as a tech and AI innovation hub necessitates a stronger presence from us in the region,” said Almar Latour, the CEO of Dow Jones and Publisher of The Wall Street Journal. “To meet the changing news and informational needs of the global business sector, we’re eager to expand our presence in the Middle East, delivering trustworthy journalism, data, and analysis both regionally and globally.”

The first phase of Dow Jones’s expansion will take place in Qatar, where the company plans to register and establish operations in Media City Qatar, a key center for global media and technology that promotes innovation and collaboration within Qatar’s dynamic media environment. This follows a recent announcement about a multi-year collaboration to host Dow Jones’s flagship tech conference, WSJ Tech Live, in Qatar beginning in December 2025.

The office in Qatar will play a crucial role in Dow Jones’s collaboration with the Government Communications Office of the State of Qatar, aimed at enhancing the company’s regional presence while aligning with Qatar’s vision of becoming a global leader in technology and innovation.

“The establishment of Dow Jones’s office in Qatar, in conjunction with WSJ Tech Live Qatar, represents a pivotal step towards fostering Qatar’s technological development and supportive business climate,” stated Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office of the State of Qatar. “This new office further cements Qatar’s status as a premier destination for global media and technology enterprises.”
