Dow Jones Unveils The WSJ Leadership Institute
January 16, 2025
A premier executive learning and leadership community designed to serve today’s business leaders.
New York, NY – [January 16, 2025] – Today, Dow Jones announced the launch of The WSJ Leadership Institute, a newly established executive learning and leadership program tailored to address the dynamic needs of contemporary business leaders. This membership community aspires to transform executive leadership development and peer networking by utilizing the exceptional trust and insights of Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal to deliver exclusive, impactful experiences for elite business executives.
Under the leadership of its president Alan Murray, The WSJ Leadership Institute expands upon the company’s existing membership groups, including the WSJ CEO and CCO Councils, as well as communities for CMOs, CIOs, and CFOs. It will introduce new communities, enhanced resources, and peer-learning initiatives for executive leaders, along with a new daily newsletter.
The Institute’s offerings will encompass:
- Beginning February 3, The WSJ Leadership Institute will launch the WSJ CEO Brief newsletter, authored by Murray and enhanced by the unparalleled business news and insights from The Wall Street Journal and other Dow Jones publications such as Barron’s, MarketWatch, and Investor’s Business Daily. This daily newsletter will provide valuable analysis of crucial daily news for busy CEOs and business leaders. You can subscribe to the complimentary newsletter here.
- The WSJ CEO Council: Titans, an exclusive subset of the CEO Council, will consist of a limited number of public company CEOs with over $10 billion in annual revenue. This group will offer unique events, programming, and experiences specifically designed for these leaders and will also act as an advisory board for the WSJ Leadership Institute.
- The invitation-only WSJ Executive Fellows, featuring former C-suite executives, will provide guidance to both the Institute and its members through the newly established WSJ Leadership Mentorship Program. This program will be enhanced by a strategic partnership with The Onyx Group, an exclusive community for current and former Fortune 500 CEOs, connecting executives with leaders who have navigated similar challenges successfully.
- Launching later this year, the new WSJ Top Directors Council will welcome board members of public companies with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion. This community will build on the inaugural Top Directors list set to be released by The Wall Street Journal this spring.
- Set to launch in early 2026, The WSJ Leadership Institute will introduce a new membership community aimed at fostering and supporting the next generation of C-suite leaders.
“Guiding large organizations through this time of profound change and uncertainty is one of the most significant challenges our society faces,” remarked Murray. “The WSJ Leadership Institute will harness the unparalleled news, insights, and data resources of Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal to empower leaders in overcoming these challenges.”
Last night, several dozen CEOs were given an exclusive preview of The WSJ Leadership Institute during a private dinner in New York City. Attendees engaged in a unique, interactive dining experience centered on meaningful conversation and information exchange, akin to the events they can expect as part of The Institute.
With ambitious plans to connect with and support business leaders worldwide, The WSJ Leadership Institute is set to unveil new opportunities, events, and resources in the coming months. For further details, visit https://theleadershipinstitute.wsj.com/ and follow The Institute on LinkedIn.
