Dow Jones Acquires WorldECR to Enhance Global Compliance Coverage

NEW YORK / LONDON – [DECEMBER 2, 2024] – Dow Jones has announced the acquisition of WorldECR, a premier provider of news, data, and analysis focused on global export control and trade sanctions. This acquisition is part of Dow Jones’s ongoing strategy to expand its specialized offerings in news, data, analysis, and events for business users.
Located in London, WorldECR caters to compliance professionals across corporations, law firms, government agencies, consultancies, research entities, and financial institutions. Its key offerings include the subscription-based publications WorldECR and Export Compliance Manager, alongside a range of practitioner guides and the annual WorldECR Forum, which is held in London and Washington D.C. each year. Additionally, its portfolio features CtrlAtlas, an extensive database of export control regulations and guidance from across the globe.
WorldECR will function as a part of Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, enhancing its existing product offerings with premier editorial coverage and notable events to assist clients in navigating the increasingly intricate trade compliance environment.
This acquisition aligns with Dow Jones Risk & Compliance’s momentum, evidenced by a 16% revenue growth to $81 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Dow Jones has also recently increased its stake in Ripjar, a global data intelligence software firm, reaffirming its commitment to becoming a premier information service provider for the growing risk and compliance sector. Earlier this year, the company also acquired A2i Systems, a leader in AI-driven fuel pricing solutions.
